Pop review: Carla Bruni, Comme Si De Rien N'Etait

Carla has what's expected from French pop divas: stunning looks, husky vocals and songs about les amours d'antan. It worked a care for on her folksy 2003 debut, simply here she mopes betwixt MOR flavours; cafe swing, string quartet, dreary waltzes and false blues. The songs experience their moments, but their creator sounds as sulkily uninvolved as a theoretical account at a boorish party.
